Simple onsite assembly that you can do yourself

  • Step 1: Design and Prototype

    Step 1: Rebate floor

    Where level entry to the bathroom is required, rebate the floor by 70mm.

  • Step 2: Install site services to perimeter

    Step 2: Install site services to perimeter

    Site plumbing and electrical are installed in the standard way, with services accurately located to the perimeter of the pod according to the services plan.  Council pre-line inspections for services can be completed as normally scheduled.

  • Step 3. Install floor tray

    The single piece floor tray is installed, ensuring that it is square and level and aligned with the pre-installed wastes.  PU foam is used to adhere the floor tray to the floor substrate.

  • Step 4. Install corner panels

    Starting from the corner, the wall panel and corner post are clipped into the upstand of the floor tray.  Additional panels are clipped into place with a tongue and groove join to create a permanent watertight join

  • Step 5: Service penetrations cut

    As the panels are being installed, the position of services behind the panel are identified.  These are marked on to the new panel and penetrations cut onto the panel to allow access to the service connection behind.

    A gapping tool is provided to create a uniform space between wall panels for grouting at step 10.

    Additional wall panels are progressively added to complete all 4 walls of the enclosure. Corner posts ensure square and vertical corners

  • Step 8: Install the entrance door

    The remaining walls are installed, leaving a gap for the doorway opening. The prefabricated door header, frame and door are screw fixed to the adjacent wall panels. The finished enclosure will be fully free standing

  • Step 9: Ceiling cap installed

    The ceiling panel is assembled and installed as a single piece.  Any service penetrations (such as downlights and ducts) are cut into the ceiling panel and the electrical and ventilation duct work connected. Hatches in the ceiling allow service access above the pod.

  • Step 10: Grouting (optional)

    While grout is not required for watertightness, grout can be installed between the tile panels to create a traditional tiled look. 

  • Step 11: Interior fitout

    The bathroom furniture and shower glass is fitted in the normal way according to the fit out plan.  The vanity, mirror cabinets, shower glass etc can be screw fixed direct to the Pod walls without requiring further wall support.

  • Step 12: Plumber fits & connects the tapware and toilet

    The plumber installs the tapware, fittings, wastes and toilet in accordance with standard plumbing practices - ensuring a leak free connection. 

  • Step 13: Electrician completes second fix

    Step 13: Electrician completes second fix

    The electrician connects the remaining electrical connections, switch gear, ventilation, lights and electrical appliances in accordance with standard electrical practices.  Standard testing is completed.

  • Step 14: Finishing

    A floorer installs the entrance transition between the pod and surrounding flooring.  In non-level installations, this will include building a step. Silicone beads are applied in the normal way around the toilet base, vanity and other surfaces as required.

  • Step 15: Inspection & Sign off

    Council inspections of the bathroom pods can be completed at the same time as inspections scheduled for the rest of the site. NZ trades provide their own Producer Statements for the works they complete. MULTIPOD will issue documentation for all materials supplied by us

Offsite assembly for high volume projects

For larger, repeatable projects, fully assembled MULTIPOD Bathroom Pods can take a significant part of the bathroom build away from the construction site.

 Bathrooms can be completed in a controlled offsite environment while site works continue in parallel. Once ready, each pod is delivered to site as a finished unit for placement, connection and final commissioning.

  • We work with your team to create BIM plans to ensure the finished Pod will seamlessly fit your build.  We can assist with any consenting info required by council for BCs

  • Fixed price orders for the Pods and your selected finishes are placed with NZ and offshore vendors.   Pods are shipped as flat pack kits either direct to site or to an offsite assembly location base on an agreed delivery program

  • The Pod enclosures are assembled, and interior fit out (either our finishes or your own) completed base on build program.  Assembly & site install can be completed us or your own trusted trades, backed by our expert NZ support

  • Testing and inspections to be completed in accordance with the inspection test plan (ITP) pre-agreed with Council. 
    Product documentation and Producer Statements are collated and submitted to Council for Code Compliance
